Cobra IPTV troubleshooting
Cobra IPTV not working as expected? Find your symptom below and work through the checks in order. The first few fix most problems.
Start here: the 60-second reset
- Close the player app completely (not just back to the home screen).
- Restart your streaming device.
- Restart your router and wait until it is fully back online.
- Open the player again and test a stream.
Still not working? Choose the symptom that matches.
Login failed or “invalid credentials”
- Re-enter the details slowly. Check for spaces before or after the username and password, and for the digit 0 versus the letter O.
- Make sure the server URL includes
http://orhttps://and the port number, exactly as provided. - Check that your subscription is active and has not expired.
- Close the stream on any other device. Exceeding your plan’s simultaneous connections can block new logins.
- Delete the profile in the player and add it again from scratch.
Buffering, freezing or stuttering
- Run a speed test on the same device, not on your phone. You need a steady connection with headroom above the stream bitrate; see the internet speed guide.
- Switch to a wired Ethernet connection, or move to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band closer to the router.
- Pause downloads, cloud backups, game updates and other streams on your network.
- Restart the router and the streaming device (unplug both for 30 seconds).
- In the player, switch the video decoder between hardware and software mode, or increase the buffer size if available.
- If you use a VPN, try a nearer VPN server or test without it to see whether it is the bottleneck.
- If only a few streams buffer while others are fine, note which ones and when, and report them to support.
TV guide (EPG) empty or showing the wrong times
- Use the player’s Update EPG or Refresh option, then wait a few minutes.
- With an M3U playlist, check that the EPG link is entered in the player’s guide settings.
- Fix shifted times with the player’s time-offset or time-zone setting, and confirm the device clock is correct.
- Clear the player’s cache, then reload the playlist.
Black screen, no picture or no sound
- Try another stream to see whether the issue affects everything or a single stream.
- Switch the decoder mode (hardware/software) in the player settings.
- For no sound, check the audio track selection in the player and the audio output setting on the device (for example PCM versus passthrough).
- Update the player app; older versions can lack support for newer video formats.
- Test with a different player app to rule out an app-specific problem.
Playlist will not load or loads an empty list
- Check the full M3U link was entered; long links are often cut short when typed with a remote.
- Confirm the device has internet access by opening another app that streams.
- Large playlists can take a few minutes the first time. Do not close the app while it loads.
- If the player has a playlist-type option, try the alternative format offered (such as M3U Plus).
App crashes or closes
- Restart the device to free memory.
- Clear the app cache (Android TV and Fire TV: Settings → Applications → the app → Clear cache).
- Free up storage: streaming sticks slow down badly when almost full.
- Update the app and the device system software.
- Uninstall and reinstall the app from the official app store, then add your login again.
What to include when you report a problem
Clear details let support find the cause faster:
- Device model and operating system version
- Player app name and version
- Login type (Xtream Codes or M3U)
- What happens, when it started and whether it affects all streams or only some
- Your speed-test result taken on the streaming device
- A photo or screenshot of any error message
